Chuck E Cheese Adventure

Avery had been begging R and I to take her to Chuck E Cheese recently.  I'm not sure why she wanted to go so much. She's never been before.  Proof positive that TV commercials do work.  They worked on my child.

Anyway, Avery begged us to go.  And she wanted to go with her besties Hannah and Chloe.  It broke my heart when we had to tell her no.  Finally all the stars aligned and we were able to all get together Memorial Day weekend.

Much fun ensued!

First order of business was riding some "rides".

Avery was very brave!

Lots of games were played.  Some Avery played by herself and some she played with her friends.

She even challenged her dad to a game of Air Hockey.

She let him win.

When Avery ran out of money, she stuck by Hannah (who was very frugal) and let Hannah pay for the rides. My girl learns early. Hannah was none the wiser.

Toward the end of our time, the girls rode one final ride together (Hannah's treat). I love how sweet these girls are together!

Ronnie even got in on the action.

And finally, no Chuck E Cheese visit is complete without a little dancing.

Avery scored a sucker and a pink ring with her tickets. I'm pretty sure that inflation has affected Chuck E Cheese. Seems like you could get a lot more with 80 tickets when I a kid!

I think Avery had a great time for her first visit at Chuck E Cheese. Now she keeps asking to go to the beach. Not sure how to pull that one off.

More adventures to come.

Bump!

The best part of  this past Mother's Day was getting to share some oh so fun news with my parents and in-laws.

We bought my mom and mother in law a necklace that had their grandma name on it (gigi for my mom, nany for R's mom).  We added a birthstone for each of the grandkids.  Two for my mom and three for my mother in law.

It took them a while to figure out our news...

It's true!  I'm pregnant! 14 weeks, 1 day today to be exact.

Our family is overjoyed!

Questions I'm currently getting

Are you excited?
Yes!  We are excited and scared to death.  Is there a manual on how to raise 2 kids?  We're questionable on the first one!

How far along are you?
Right now, 14 weeks.  We've got a long way to go! Our due date is December 10th.

How do you feel?
NOW I feel much better. It was pretty tough there for a while. I had morning, afternoon and evening sickness.  More nausea than actually sick.

Does Avery know?
She knows but I'm not sure she "gets" it.

Do you know the sex?
Not yet but we will find out around mid-July.  We can't wait!

So there you have it.  Our big news that we've kept a big secret.  Some basic stats you might be interested in:
Picture taken at 13 weeks, 5 days
Weight gain: 10 lbs (we'll see how long this lasts)
Cravings: Nothing in particular. For a while it was cottage cheese but that went away.
Sex prediction: My prediction is a boy but we really don't care either way.

So if I've forgotten your birthday, been crabby to you, or just flat out distant lately, now you know why! We are so blessed to get to experience parenthood for the second time and can't wait to share it with you!

More adventures to come!

Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day.  But I'm also pretty selfish so any holiday all about me is A-okay.  This past Mother's Day was one of my favorites.

We started the weekend by hosting my mom and mother in law over for an amazing lunch (of which i 0 pictures).   The hubs cooked us steaks we had some delish sides to go with it.

On actual Mother's Day we started the day by going to church.  Because none of us are particularly early risers, I didn't get to open my gift from Avery and Ronnie until we got home.

Avery was so sweet to bring my gift to me.  She's helpful like that.

There was a card and everything!

I love how Avery signed her own name.  If you aren't sure which one is Avery's its the scribble.  Looks just like Avery right?!

Avery is also very good at helping open presents.  It's her specialty!

Opening other people's gifts is so boring though.

Avery and Ronnie picked out a lovely aqua purse for me!  I love it!  It's the best!

I even got to choose where to go for dinner...Qdoba. I know, life as a mother is so exciting!

More adventures to come.
